Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled sexuality and identity with a comical wit before expanding her repertoire to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean parents who immigrated to Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came through the trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. In college she focused on her studies and majored in journalism and women's studies. For a brief period of time, she was in Beijing as well, she was also studying Mandarin. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus to music. After making headlines via the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually became a part of her first album Yellow Ranger. Other viral hits included the queef song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The latter song was linked directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in 2015. After she established herself as a performer and author She took on the roles of actor. As well as early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she scored breakout parts in several famous films such as Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP in Fina We Trust.
